Tho Napier Riilo Volunteers parade at the Protestant Hall this evening utß o'clock. Acceptances for the handicaps at the Waipawa sports must be sent in by tomorrow. The creditors of Harvey Sladen and Richard Mant Miller, bankrupts, hold their meetings at the Court House, Napier, tomorrow, the former at 11 a.m., and fcho latter afc noon. Auction sales take pluoe to-morrow as follows:—By Mr M. R. Miller, at tho Criterion Hotel, at 11 a.m., several valuable
1 properties in town and country ; by Messrs Banner and Liddle, at their rooms, at 11 a.m., brushware, glassware, cutlery, groceries, <_c; and by Mr Monteith at Beecroft's yards, Hastings afc 1 p.m., 70 head cattle, on terms which are published. The acceptances for the handicaps, to be run at the Waipawa County Racing Club's meeting on New Year's Day, close with the secretary, Mr J. K. Newton, on Saturday evening, Harding's almanac will be published in a few days. R. Hatch, Emerson-street, has poultry in any quantity for sale. Mr W. Rathbone, general importers, Waipawa, quotes prices for ladies silk dress pieces. Mr Harding, Hastings-street, has newpatterns in Christmas and New Year cards. Mr P. S. Macdonald, of tbe Hastings Clothing House, being about to leave the colony, is selling off the whole of his large stock. Two gentlemen want board and residence. Messrs Blytbe and Co., quote prices for boy's and girls' Galatea straw hats and check sateens. A general meeting of the Albion Lodge of Druids will take place to-morrow evening in the lodge-room, Carlyle-street. Mr R. H. Robinson, of the Cheap Drapery Shop, is now giving away fancy goods on the same principle as fche pictures, which have all been disposed of. Claims against the barque Wave Queen must be rendered in duplicate to her agents, Messrs Murray, Robert's and Co., by tomorrow, or they will not be recognised. Mr Denholm has been appointed agent afc the Spit for Mr Woods, pharmaceutical chemist. A number of new advertisements will be found in our " Wanted" column.
