Melbourne, December 12,
The Melbourne manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand (limited) reports of the local grain market as follows : —Wheat, shipping, per bushel, 5/2 to 5/5, with a downward tendency ; malting barley is firm and in active demand at 3/10 to 4/2 ; New Zealand feeding oats, duty paid, 3/11 to 4/3 ; ditto in bond, 3/4 to 3/8, the market being quieter and prices barely maintained. After several days rainfall the weather is now very fine, and arrivals of grain from the country are increasing.
