At the inquest on the body of J. N. Shepherd yesterday the jury, after long deliberation, returned a verdict that the deceased committed suicide while laboring under a fit of temporary insanity. The evidence did not justify such a verdict, as it was as clear a case ot felo de se as ever was committed.
The Supreme Court was occupied all yesterday with a charge of arson against T. E. Lyle, a watchmaker. A verdict of not guilty was returned.
