GREYMOUTH
October 20. The Greymouth Coal Company has decided to raise, the price of coal to 12a per ton, f.0.b., from November I, being an increase of Is per ton. The dispute between the Coal Pit Heath Company and the coal heavers employed in the mine has been settled by a compromise. The men proposed that an interval of only half-an hour instead of a full hour should be taken during the eight hours' shift, thus making it eight and a half hours, and the company have accepted the compromise. The men have returned to work.
