October 5. The provincial Bishops have selected the names of the Right Rev. [Edward Parry, Bishop Suffragan of Dover, and the Rev Richard Appleton, Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, for recommendation to the Bishops of Australia and Tasmania for the vacant Bishopric of Sydney and the Primacy of Australia. Canon Fleming, cf York, whose name was .elected by tbe Diocesan Synod, is no longer a candidate for the office The contest for the Punch rowing trophies was continued to-day. The result of tbe various heats leaves Trickett, Rush, Laycock, and Beach for the final races which come off on Saturday next.
