Second performance of Royal Australian Circu» in Clive Square to-night at 8. Final payments for the Handicap and general entries for the Hawte's Bay Jockey Club's spring meeting must be in the hands of the secretary, Mr Luekie, at the Criterion Hotel, by 8 o'clock to-night;.
A lodge of the Loyal United Friends will be opened at the Shamrock Hotel, Awatoto, on Thursday evening. On and after to-morrow a branch of the Customs Department will be opened in the general government buildings, Napier, in the rooms lately occupied by the Deputy Commissioner of Stamps. The Trinity Wcsleyan Sunday School anniversary eventuates on Sunday next, when the Rev. W. J. Williams, of Wanganui, will preach the annual sermons. On Sunday afternoon a floral service will be held, and on the following Tuesday evening the anniversary soiree will take place.
The Napier Rifle Volunteers parade on Thursday evening at the Protestant Hall. ivfessrs Monteith and Co. sell 90 head mixed cattle and a number of horses at the Bhamrock sale yards on Friday, 29th instant.
H. J. Glazebrook, of West Clive, butcher, declares his inability to meet his engagements with his creditors, and the first meeting is appointed to be held at the Court House, Napier, on Monday, October 9.
A general meeting of creditors in the estate of J. B. Vernon, a debtor, will take place at the Court House, Napier, on Wednesday, 27th instant, for the purpose of enabling the debtor to apply for his discharge.
Messrs Mouteith and Co. advertise particulars of ar important horse and cattle sale which they hold at Hastings on Monday, October 2.
A special meeting of St. John's Branch, No. 93, H.A.C.8.5., is convened for Wednesday evening, 27th instant.
Dr. Faulkner will consult patients every Wednesday, between 3 and 4 p.m., at the Mechanic's Institute, Havelock.
Messrs Monteith and Co. hold an important sale of stock, &c, on account of various interests, at Beeeroft's yards, Hastings, on Friday, October 6, the day after the Agricultural and Pastoral Society's annual show.
All outstanding accounts due to Mr R. L. Hatch muefc be paid or arranged for by the 30th instant, or they will be sued for. Mr J. M. Newman will receive and arrange for same, his receipt being sufficient. The owner of a silver watch, found in Hastings-street, can have same on application to Mr J. Cunningham, cab driver, White road, and paying expenses. The pure bred Clydesdale entire Prince of the Valley will be sold at the Horse Bazaar by Messrs Monteith and Co. upon his arrival here. Messrs Blythe and Co. advertise " good stufi for little money," and quote prices for heavy all-wool Scotch tweed. Mr Denholm has been appointed agent at the Spit for Mr Woods, pharmaceutical chemist.
