Millc convenes a meeting of sheepfarmers, to be held at the Criterion Hotel on Monday next, for the purpose of forming a Sheepfarmers 1 company for the export of frozen and preserved meat. A special meeting of the Municipal Council will be held in the Council Chamber on Wednesday 21st instant, when proposed byelaws as to lighting fires in the open air, as to cesspits, as to carts, as to driving or riding round corners, as to trees, &c, overhanging streets, as to lime kilns, and as to quarries, will be submitted for consideration. The date of the sale of Dr. Spencer's late dwelling house by Messrs Banner and Liddle has been altered from Thursday to Friday next. The Borough Council offers a reward of £5 for such information as will lead to the conviction of the pereon or persons who damaged a gas lamp in Carlyle street, corner of Owen street, on or about the Ist or 2nd instant. Mr Ryan has received, instructions from Mr R. D. Maney to sell by auction, unless previously disposed of privately, at the New Zealand Shipping Company's stores, Spit, on Tuesday, 26th instant, 220 bags milling wheat, grown at Wairoa. Mr S. A. Snelling is anxiously waiting to see his old town and country friends at the Occidental Hotel, just above Mayo's. A brown gelding is impounded at Napier, which, if not redeemed, will be sold on the 26th instant. The steamer Oreti leaves for Gisborne and Auckland at 3 p.m. to-morrow. Messrs Blythe and Co. are selling Cluny washing laces very cheap. The steamer Kiwi leaves for Wellington to-morrow at 3 p.m. Woods' eucalyptis balsam is an efficacious remedy for coughs, colds, asthma, and bronchial affections of all kinds.
