AUCKLAND.
October 31. W. Dawson, a solicitor's clerk, was this morning sentenced to three months' imprisonment for beating a woman. Tbe Wade prosecutions have been withdrawn. The Thames -jolunteers, and about twenty recruits from Auckland, left Onehunga for Opunake by the Hinemoa at one o'clock to-day. They were enthusiastically cheered as they left the Auckland railway-station. A burglar broke into Merrick's store in Albert-Btreet last night, and stole a till containing £2 worth of small change.
