In the Supreme Court to-day the case of Simpson, for wilfully fastening down the safety valve of a boiler, is proceeding.
The Hons. W. Rolleston und J. Hall return here to-day. The following intercolonial weather exchange has been received :—Sydney, Tuesday evening. The barometer continues falling in Eastern Australia, with cloudy weather and rain on the coast of South Australia and New South Wales. The barometer at Portland and Sydney registers 29-9. at Hobart 297, at Gabo 298 and at Brisbane 301.
