Mr Hurst, M.H.R., has received a reply from Mr Rolleston to the effect that none but drilled men will be taken as recruits for the Armed Constabulary. A lad named Williams was severely kicked by a horse in Queen-street this morning.

At the Supreme Court this morning Doak and Watson, storekeepers, bad their certificate suspended for twelve months for reckless extravagance in living. Morrice Evans and John Renwick had theirs suspended for six months.
