AUCKLAND.
September 26. An advertisement appears in the Star to-night, signed by Major Withers, stating the Government directs that men who are drilled and are prepared to enrol for active service in the Armed Constabulary will meet here on Friday next. The new wing of the lunatic asylum is completed, and the institution is now the best in the colony. A telephone exchange will open here shortly with thirty subscribers.
