AUCKLAND.
June 6* The steamers Hawea and Hinemoa arrived off the Manukau bar on Sunday morning. The wind at the time was blowing strong off the land, and the weather thick and raining. About 12 o'clock the Hawea steamed to the north of the entrance, and having proceeded a short distance she grazed on the bottom, and in a few momentß grounded. The Hinemoa, which was close behind, also grazed the bottom, but fortunately managed to get her engines* reversed before the vessel became fast. Captain Johnson stood by to see if the Hawea would float oft, which she did at high tide, and steamed up to the wharf, not having sustained any injury, At the Police Court to-day three larrikins were fined 10a each and costs for violently assaulting a Chinese vegetable vendor. A boy named Kemp, of Newmarket, was seriously injured to-day by a cart passing over him.
