LONDON
May 24. At the wool salea to-day 9100 bales were offered. The tone of the bidding was strong. News has been received from Canada tbat a terrible accident has occurred near London, on the Thames, in the Province of Ontario. An excursion steamer, with several hundred persons on hoard, capsized, and one hundred and seventy-five perished. May 25. At the wool sale to-day 1000 bales were offered. The market is firm. The trial of the editor of the German Socialist organ Die Freheit, issued in London, for publishing an article in March last eulogising the murder of the Czar Alexander 11., was concluded today. The prisoner was found guilty by the jury, but the sentence of the Court has been deferred. The course of business in the House of Commons ia again being seriously impeded by the Irish members, who have revived their obstructive tactics towards the various measures now before the House.
