A writ has been issued for the election of a member of the Houße of Representatives lor the Southern Maori Electoral District, vice Mr Tainui, resigned. The nomination will take place at Kaiapoi on
the Ist March, and the poll on the 25th March. Mr Bryce's resignation, and Mr Rolleston's appointment as Native Minister, is gazetted, ami also Mr H. K. Tairoa'e resignation as a Native Assessor. The following papers have been appointed Provincial Gazettes:—Herald, Auckland; News, Taranaki; Telegraph, Hawfee's Bay; Mail, Nelson; West Coast TitfieSj Westland Times, Marlborough; Express, Canterbury Times, and Otago Witness. {For continuation of news see fourth page.}
