ABOLITION IN THE PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.

To the Editor : Sir,— Re another meeting of the Provincial Council — if suoh meeting ever occurs we may surmise that, in nil probability, no estimates or salaries will be voted It is well known that a majority of the Council has pa«scd very strong abolition resolutions, which were only rescinded after pressure had been brought to bear. Bearing this undoubted fact m mind, it is scarcely to be imagined that the same, or possibly a still larger majority, will, in view of the immense advantages offered, by tho Gencial Government, consent to aid in perpetuating the beautiful system which happens to harmonise with the disinterested views of a few stump orators and Superintendental followers, who would almost certainly be chased away if they ventured to extend their peurile operations in the matter of packed meetings and bogus petitions to any place beyond this city and its precincts. This community— or rather the ill-informecl*and "led-by-the-nose" portion of it— really seems to believe that it will be backed up by all our country districts in its obstructive nonsense. — I am, &c. , Prophetic Seer
