GOOD TEMPLARISM AT ONEHUNGA.

A PuBLir meeting was held at Onehunga on Tuesday evening in the Choral Hall, to take the neces-ary steps to form a Good Templar lodge in that township, A large number of brothers and sisters from various of the Auckland lodges and likewise from the Whan lodi>«s were present to take part in the ceremony. — Mr. H. Neal wag appointed chairman, who after a few introductory remarks opened the meeting by giving out the eighth ode, which was heartily sung by members of the Order, and joined in by the visitors! present.— The public meeting lasted till about half past nine o'clock, and addresses were delivered by Mr. Homufl, junr., Rev.G H. Turner, and Mr. Hemus, senr. These speeches were interspersed with ode*, the hall was densely crowded and at the conclusion Mr. Hemus, jenr., announced th.it a lodge of Good Templars waa to be formed a* Ouehunp, and hope*! that many prestnt would join, and requested those who were willing to do so, to retire to thfl an e room, and th<j rest to go bomt>. k After a ht''e delay in fixing tho room as a lodue, the initiatory ceremony took place conducted by Mr Hemua, Ht-nr , who was assi-ted l>y Mr. Baxter and other officers of various lodges.
