DEPUTATION TO MR. VOGEL.

The deputation, consisting of Captain Daldy I Messrs. P. A. Philips, W. H. Kissling, aad D. B. Cruickshank, appointed at tho last meeting of the Harbour Board to wait upon Mr. Vogel in reference to the railway works in Mechanics' Bay, interviewed tho hon. gentleman yesterday morning at Canada Buildings. They called bis attention to the necoHsity of stops being taken without delay to guard against damage being done to the harbour by the washmg away of the embankment during bad weather, and referred to tho great extent of injury done on the occasion of the north-easterly gale about a month ago. Mr. Vogel informed tho deputation that he had been in telegiaphic communication with Mr. Richardson, the Minister for Public Works, on the subject, and appointed to meet them again on Friday morning, at 11 o'clock, when ho would go more fuliy into tho matter, and bo able to give them information an to what steps had been taken by the Government.
