Hall, George Ash by, John Ilamaon, ami William Grah.im were brought up, charged with a' breach of the Municipal Police Act, by maliciously disturbing the inhabitants by ( knocking at doors, &e.,'in the neighbourhood of I ! obsou- aud Albert-streets, at about 2 o'clock in the morning.— Sergeant Walker deposed to having liuard a noisre about 2 o'clock this morning, apparently in Albert. Btreet. On proceeding tiiue, he saw the. four prisoners and followed them. 1 hey weioi knocking with heavy sticks at doors in Albert-street and Hobson - street very, violently, and shouting loudly, when ho' took them in cliargo — Constable Naugbton' aUo gave similar evidence, and said defendants styled themselves "Rollicking Rama." — Iheßiucli sentenced them to eaoh pay a fine of £5, or to be imprisoned for one month without hard labour. Vaoi: ants. —Mary Minjiinix was charged with a breach of the above Act by having no visible means of support. She-was sentenced to be imprisoned for three months. — Maria Lilley was also charged with a similar offence. Sentenced to three months', impi isonment with hard labour. ,j Breaches of the Impounding Act. — John Batger, for allowing a cow to stray at large, was fined 55., aud post?.— Jane Marr, for allowing a cow to stray at large, was fined 55., aud costs.. , , , ' Fokcing and Uttering. — Edward Lewi? was charged with having forged and uttered an order for£ 3, purporting to>h,e drawn by Joseph Craig, with intent to defraud Richard Hobbs.— Richard- Hobbs, draper, deposed • I know the prisoner. He cauio to my ahop between 12 aud 1 o'clock yesterday, with, au order from ouo Joseph Craig to give the bearer £5 worth of goods. SuspecKing that the . , order ( was, not genu> me, I -sent for Mr. Craig. Th<J shopman, during the time supplied the prisoner with goofa. Mr. Craig in prisoner*! p-'efiencß said the order was a forgery, -fJoseph Cra^ig, carter; deposed: I know' nothing of the order (produced) ;itis not my Bignature.
