MR. ALFRED BUCKLAND'S WOOL AND FLAX SALE.
The sale of hides, wool, skins, aiid flax, held yesterdaj', at the Hayraarket, was fairly attended by buyers. Both hides and wool were in better demand than for some time, and brought advanced prices. Well-salted hides and calfskins realised 3|d the lb.; wet sheepskins, 2s Sd each ; dried skins, 4jd to 6d the 1b.,; wool in grease,-'- s£d to S.|d the lb. For tow no offer was given. Flax of medium and inferior quality met with a fair inquiry, and brought from 13/. 10s to 10/. the tou. i For better qualities the bidding was relatively low, and those lots were withdrawn. After the auction a large parcel was sold at 191. t and 211, offered for a second parcel.
