THE SOCIETY OF ARTISTS.
The exhibition in connection with this Society was visited yesterday by a large number of ladies and gentlemen. Amongst the numerous articles! that have attracted special attention is a case of flowers, worked in rice-paper,by Mrs. James Stodarb, modeller. This exhibit is one of the supplementary contributions, and was omitted from our general notice on the opening of the exhibition. It is a very skilful piece of workmanship of its kind, and we should have liked to have seen more specimens of this description entered, as they would have added a pleasing variety to the appearance of the room.
Th» normal or average weight of a man of sft. in height is Bat. 31b., and for every additional inch in height there should be an addition of 51b. ; so 'that the average of a six-footer should be 12st. 121b. Those who are very much below or very much above these weights can scarcely be considered aB in sound health.
