CAPTAIN SKEET AT TAURANGA
Captain Skeet ha* addressed the electors at Opotiki. In his speech he declared his intention to support the Government, and approves of the scheme of immigration and public {Works. E c advocated an alteration in the Tariff with tha view of admitting free of duty all raw material which can be manu f actured iv the colony. He also advocated a reduction of duty on manufactured articles which cannot be produced in the colony. At the conclusion of his address a number of questions were put to Captain Skeet and satisfactorily answered. The meeting was very orderly throughout. Mr. Kelly is in the field aa Capfcain Skeet'a opponent, and it is said that Mr. Mackay, of the Thames, also jntends^to come out. — [Correspondent.] ,
