CAPTAIN SKEET AT TAURANGA

Captain Skeet ha* addressed the electors at Opotiki. In his speech he declared his intention to support the Government, and approves of the scheme of immigration and public {Works. E c advocated an alteration in the Tariff with tha view of admitting free of duty all raw material which can be manu f actured iv the colony. He also advocated a reduction of duty on manufactured articles which cannot be produced in the colony. At the conclusion of his address a number of questions were put to Captain Skeet and satisfactorily answered. The meeting was very orderly throughout.
