KIHIKIHI SPORTS.
Shortly after 11 o'clock on the morning of Boxing-day, the usnal monotony of the village of Hlhikihi was pleaiantly ditturbed by the appearance of trooM of happy, looking equestrians cantaing briskly in frofn the adjoining settlements, to enjoy the Christmas sports. There was a varied programme, and suitable money-prizes were " awarded to the winners. Hack Race.—One mile hurdle race, 6 jumps 2ft. 6in. in height. Eight hor see ign. The winners of the race were: Mr. T. Baker's horse first, and Mr. McGratH'a second. Pony Baob.—One mile, flat race. Six ponies MUI. The winmers -vrere t Mr. Boou'a finjt, and Mr, McGrath's wcond.'
