DISTRESSING ACCIDENT.
A MAN was brought down the river this (Saturday) morning suffering from a painful accident which occurred at the Hauraki Saw ' Mills yesterday. The sufferer, whose name js Charles H. Willoughby, was oiling some part of the machinery, /irhen the fore part of ■ his foot was struck by the main crank and fearfully mutilated. On being admitted to the Hospital Dr. Lethbridge waa quickly in attendance. On examination it was found to amputate the firat and second toes. The operation was performed by Dr. Lethbridge, assisted by Dra. Kilgcur and Fox.— Star.
