THE THEATRES.

THEATRE ROY AX. The fine five-act comedy of "London Assurance" was the piece procUiced at the abovo place of amusement last evening. There was a good attendance. Mrs. H. Jackson, as Lady Gay Spanker, looked and played the character well. Miss Raymond (Grace Harkaway) also acted carefully. Mr J. Simmond's Dolly Spanker is certainly one of the best characters we have seen this gentleman sustain. Mr. S. Howard was also exceedingly amusing as the lawyer Meddle. Mr. J. South acquitted himself very creditably in the character of Dazzle. The remaining characters were very fairly represented. Mr. Joyce, however, we have seen in characters that we think are more betbei- suibed to him than that of Sir Harcourt Courtly. Altogether the comedy was put upon the stage in a very creditable manner, and it certainly passed off successfully. The announced farce was "Family Jars."' To-night " Lady Audley's Secret" is to be reproduced, with Mrs. Jackson as Lady Audley. PRINCE OF WALES THEATRE. At the Prince of Wales Theatre last even- | ing the performance was the repetition of the dramas of "Le Pauvre Jacques " and "The Lancashire Lass." There was a moderate house, and the pieces went off successfully. To-night, Shakspeare's tragedy of "Maobeth" will be produced.
