MULTUM IN PXRVO G0LDA1INIXG COMPANY. — The first half-yearly meeting of this company was held on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Sceats's Hotel. There was a large attendance of shareholders, seven- eighths of the capital being represented. Mr. J. Mallabond occupied the cbair. The report was read and adopted. From the report it appeared that there had been three crushings of quartz, the net proceeds from which amounted to £279 9s. 3d. Calls had been made previously to these three crushings to the extent of £566 13s. 4cl., all of which with the exception of two or three pounds is paid up. The company is in a flourishing condition having a balance of about £219 to th°ir credit at the Bank, besides about £10 in the hands of the manager. It was agreed to place more labour on the mine at once, so as to turn cut the quartz as quickly as possible. One question which gave rise to some discussion was the necessity of agitating, along with the surrounding claims, for the erection of a wire tramway from the head of the Waiotahi Hill to the batteries lower down ; and the shareholders invite the co-operation of surrounding claims in pressing on the Government the necessity that exists for this work. Some business of minor importance waa transacted, and the meeting terminated.
