ARRIVAL OF THE JOHN PENN.
The s.s. John Perm, Captain Carey, arrived in the Manukau yesterday morning from West Coast ports, bringing a general cargo and several passengers. The following is Captain Careys report of the passage : — The Perm sailed from Hokitika on Monday, the 9th instant, at 3 p.m., and arrived in Grey mo nth the same tide — discharged 10 tons cargo, and shipped 105 tons coal ; and sailed for Northern ports on Tuesday, at 5 p.m., arriving in Westport early the following morning; sailed again the same day, at 5 p.m., and arrived in Whanganui on Thursday, at 9 p.m. ; shipped a full cargo of stock on Friday, and sailed the same day, at 9 p.m., arriving in the Manukau at 9 yesteiday morning. Experienced fine "weather throughout the passage.
