me Hollowing reports on the state of the share market during the past week have been kindly supplied to us :— Mr. F. W. Stevens, broker, of Queenstreet, reports :— The market, though still depressed, is slightly iinner since last report, shares on all dividend-paying and promising companies being in fair demand. Transactions may be quoted in Shotover, Bs, 8s 6d, 9s ; Belfast, 1/. 3s, 11. ss, 1/. 7s 6d j Long Drive, 14/.., 151. , 15Z. 10s ; Una, 13s, 13s Cd, 14s j Kellys, 12s ; Deep Lead, 4Ss, 50s ; Junctions, 15s ; Waitemata, 21 ss, 21. 7s Gel ; Eureka, Is 6d. Is 9d ; Berkeley Castle, Is 3d, Is 6d ; Flying Cloud, 25s : and Inverness, 15s, Mr. J. Newman reports : — There has heen more business doing in the sharemarket during the last few days ; and I have sold during the week— Shotover in small lots at 9s; large John C. Sextie, of Shortland-street, reports :— A much [better feeling has pervaded the market during the past week. Sales have been effected, and there are buyers still for Shotovers, 7s 6d ; Eurekas, Is 3d ; Deep Leads, 50s ; Unas, 14s ; Mariner's Eeef, 8?. ; Onehunga, 61. ; Fourth of July, 2s Cd. I am a buyer of Long Dxives at 12/. 10s. A few transactions have taken place in Coromandel shares, lots at 8s ; Long Drives at 131. to 14?.; Unas at 12s 9d to 14s, with dividend ; Inverness at 14s to 14s 6d ; Deep Leads at 55s ; Mariner's Reef at 9/. Belfast have advanced from 20s to 30s, with buyers at the last price. Messis. Vickers and Orchard report of the stock and share market: — Our operations have been small during the week. Bank shares have heen done at 16/. Bs, and New Zealand Insurance shares, in small parcels, at IS/. 10s. The market for these securities is very quiet, with, at present, little inquiry. In goldmining shares, a general stagnation prevails. Our transactions have been: — In Long Drives, intolerably good parcels, at 14?., and last sales at 13/. ; Mariner's Eeefs, a good parcel at 9/. • Deep Leads, 50s and 55s ; All Nations, 70s ; Shotovers, 9s ; Invernesses, 14s ; Junctions, 15s ; Unas, 12s 6d ; Fourth of July, Is 6d; and Caledonians, 15/.
