SUDDEN DEATH.

I Another sudden death occurred between one and two o'clock yesterday morning. Although the death at last waa sudden, it was fortunately not altogether unexpected. Mr. Charles Purdy, formerly a shipwright, but who for several years has been conducting the repairs going on on Queen-street Wharf, was on Friday last taken seriously ill, so that he was unable to attend to his usual work. Dr. Kenderdine was called in, and had been attending him every day since, and found the man suffering from advanced disease of the Jieart, for which he had been treated in the Provincial Hospital for some five or six weeks about eighteen months ago. The doctor prescribed the usual remedies in such cases, but with no hope that they would have the power to effect a permanent or even partial cure. On Wednesday last deceased felt so much better that he was able to take a short walk on Queen-street Wharf, and, on returning to his home in West Queen- street, again went to bed. About midnight on Wednesday he showed symptoms of getting worse, and Dr. Lee was aent for. The wife also sent for Dr. Hooper, of Hobson-street. He arrived about twenty minutes past one o'clock yesterday morning, only to find the man dead. - From deceased's appearance Dr. Hooper expressed the opinion that he had died of disease of the heart. On Sergeant-Major Morrison reporting the death to Dr. Kenderdine, he at once grante I a certificate of the cause of death. Deceased leaves a widow and three children.
