GRASS SEED.

We have lately received several requests from correspondents in the country for informa 1 ion as to the current prioes of grassseed, and accordingly we subjoin the following reports, which have been kinclly »upplied to ua !—! — Mr. A. Buckland reports the following quotations :— White clover, Is. 3d. per lh,, very scaroe ; red clover, Is,, very scarce j oowgrass, la, 3d., very little in town ; timothy, od,, very little obtainable j r-ya-grass, Ba, per bushel, market well supplied ; cocksfoot, 10a., scarce, There is a large de> mand for grass-seed for home consumption. A great deal of oocksfoot ia being purchased for export to the Southern provinceg. Mr. W. J. Hurst reports s— Rye-grass, 6i. per bushel, plentiful j cocksfoot, Bs. to 10s., rather scarce ; white clover, Is. 3d. ; red clover, lOd. ; cow-grass, 15d. There is scarcely any red clover or cow-grass in town. Rape seed may be quoted at 6d., and is in fair supply ; lucerne, Is. 6d., scarce ; timothy, 9d,, scarce j trefoil, 5d,, none in the market. Messrs. T. and S. Morrin have on sale a large quantity of clover, rape, lucerne, and ateyke, ex { Seatolle<-,' and a further supply ia expected by the ' Ismay.' The following are their quotations :— White clover seed, Is. 3d > per lb. ; red clover seed, lOd. per lb. ,j.cowgrass seed, Is. 3d per lb. • alsyke seed, Is. 1 6d.perlb. ; rape seed, 6d: per lb. ; trefoil, ?£ \~r l h ' Poverfc y rye-grass, Bs. and 10s. fcilr bushel ; cocksfoot, 10s. per bushel.
