Tlu* alleged goldfield is on his own pro^ perty »t jftgauhanga, five miles from Wellington city, | Ho declares he hws had quaxtz from his reefs analyted *t Melbourne, where it has been found highly auriferous and remunera* Ux9 r. He further declares hia willingness to pro* duce «ny day from ldwt. to * ton of highly* auriferous stone. Means are being taken to test tlio accuracy of these statements. Smith, the contractor for the Governor's residence, has filed his schedule. 'llie Government have called upon his sureties to proceed with the work.
