THAMES CRUSHING COMPANY.

The annual meeting of the above company was held at the offico of Mr. J. T. Garlick, yesterday afternoon. There was a laige attendance of shareholders. The balance-sheet was submitted to the meeting, as also the following reports from the direotois and tlie manager of the machine :— "Directors' Rep it for the Half-year ending December 31, ISGO : .Since the 'last annual report the additional twenty head of stampers then mentioned have been erected ; the one-half are now at work; the remainder ■will be started in a few days. During the last six months the work ; has not been so plentiful as anticipated, consequently the debt of the company has not been much reduced. .From the balance-sheet it will appear that, comparing the expenditure with the revenue, about £-130 ha 1 ? been cleared. Considering that the batteries were standing two months out of the six, and that all the work has been done by the old twenty head, the directors cannot see any ground for complaint. The present prospects, apart from the reduction of the price for crushing, are good, inasmuch as there is every probability of keeping the whole forty head going. The manager's report is appended, from vs hich it will a pear the plant is m excellent wwlim^ order." ' 'Manager's Report .• G rahamstown, Pebruai y 1, 1870. — I beg leave to report the batteries consist of forty head of stamps, thirty of them having been woiki g. I consider the prospects of the company are good. When once the wire tramway is finished, which is expected to be in two weeks from this time, I believe there will be plenty of quarts from the claims for some time to come. The resor^oir ig oapable of snpplying water for 30 head of stamps ; with a little more the forty can be kept at work, which I don't expect wil cost much to got. TII 3 tramway is continued down alongside of the mill, that trucks can be emptied on the stage. The branch is working well ; one of the boilers is capable of driving^ the forty stamps at 401b, io 431b pressure. The engine would drive eighty stamps. All the machinery connections are in splendid order. I have commenced to make pits for saving the tailings for the different claims, if wanted ; each by itself. — "Yours, faithfully, Johst McllmLh.—J. T. Garlick, Esq." The reports were adopted.
