ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.

A. meeting of this i*'ooiety wa* held yesterday morning, at their rooms, Fort street. The following gentlemen wpre present :— Messrs T. B. Gillies, T, B. Hill, T. Kirk, and J, T. Mackelvie. Mr. Gillies was voted to the chair; and the minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A vote of thanks, proposed by Mr. Mackelvie, and seconded by Mr. Hill, was passed to Messrs. Laid]ey, Ireland, and Co., of Sydney, for their kindness and liberality in transhipping the moreporka to England. Pbbasants.— The meeting reso'ved to apnly to Government for permission to Baare pheasants at Helensville, for aoolimatiaafcion purposes in the Upper Wairoa.—A letter was read from the Southlaud Acclimatisation Sooiety, applying for pheasants or California quail. The Seoret try was ordered to send all the California quail in stock. Salmon Ova. — The Seoretary was ordered to acknowledge a letter from Mr. Bust, relative to the importation of the salmon ova from San Francisco. Surplus Bantam Fowls.-— It was ordered tbat the surplus Vantam fowls be sold by auction.
