PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.
A Provincial Government Gazette was published yesterday which contains a notification to the efft ct that the Kauwaeranga Highway trustees have been appointed the local authority referred to in the Au3k« land Municipal Police Act, for the fcjwn of Shortl&nd. John Diokenaon Jackson has been appointed collector of rates for the town of Onehußgs* Highway District, and Frank Jefcoata Brooks seoretary and colleotor for the Mount Albert Highway District. Applications are made to register the following goldmining companies : — Albert, Ohio, Diadem, Pride of Erin, Bee- hive, Herald, John o' Groats, Mexican, and Young Reefers. Applications for leases are made for the following pieces of ground ; — The City of Glasgow Gold- Mining Company's ground* tho Atlas Gold-Mining Company's ground, 16 acres Karaka, and 12 acres Tararua, The names of persons to whom publicans' licenses have been issued since the 30th of June are published for general information.
