It it situated in block 74, Waitakere East, on freehold property well fenced, and is bounded by the Weat Coast Road. Tbe reef has been traced in a direot line for about twenty chains, running north-east »nd south* west. The land is well supplied with ft quantity of superior fallen timber f6r slabbing and othor mining purposes, and there is also an abundant supply of water for maobinery on the groucd. A quantity of quartz taken out of the claim by one of the original shareholder! has been tested by the Assftyer of the Bank of New Zealand, and yielded at the rate of 4oz. I6dwt. 15gr. to the ton, of tb.e estimated value per oz. of twenty-two carats of standard gold. This test was within a few grains of a previous one from the same ground, made by Dr. Aioken, of Auokland, last year. Owing to tbe specific gravity of the metal, 90 per cent, of the gold may, according to the report of the assayer, be save! with the maohinery now in use at the Thames Goldfields, by the exeroiss of ordinary care in crushing. The property in the Company is now divided into 100 Promoters' Shares, each of whioh will represent ten shares in the Company when fully registered.
