The Mercury of the 9th Estates :— Th« news of the arrival of a cargo of breadstuff's at Sydney has had the effect of unsettling this market, and although there been no transactions to«day prices are considered by no means so firm. The telegraph news in another column will increase tb.it feeling, and a fall in the price of wheat -will probably be the result. Meanwhile there is little grain offering. We have now only to repeat quotations as under :— Flour, from £12 to £12 10a per ton ; wheat, from 53 4d to 5a 6d ptr buehel ; sharps, £7 to £8 per ton ; br*n, Is 2d per bushel j oats, 3s to 3« 3d ; peas and beans, 3s 6d to 4a ; tares, 5a 6d to 6a sd ; hay, loose, per ton, £6 ; pressed, from £6 to £6 10s per ton j potatoes, £3 10s per ton (including bags). Wholesale prices for potted butter are from 1b to Is 4d per lb. ; fresh, from 1« 3d to Is 6d. , ___—^^^— mam »
