The Otngo Daily Times of July 19 reports as Mlowb: — Brandies remain at last quotations, the Btock of bulk rather working down. Genevaa aud whiskeys are unaltered, but the iuquiry for th* latter has slackened. Malt liquors, both bulk and iv glass, are quite without attention. Sugars continue in aotive demand at full rates, good yellow and grey crystals scarce, and lower qualities in equally indifferent supply. Teas have been moved in moderate parcels, the finer descriptions of congous bringing rather better rates, but the lower sorts are in very limited demand and with no prospect of any ohauge for the better. The inquiry for , provisions has been good, and prices in some respects better. There has been little doing in imported goods, but colonial moves freely. Provincial butter has been, placed at la 3d, and Wellington Is Id to Is 2d. The asking price for cheese is lOd, a considerable parcel being reported aa quitted at 9£d. Good colonial bacon and hams realise 9d to lOd. Sinclair's and Coey's new hams aro quoted at Is 4d to Is 6d ; the same brands of bacon, lid. The transactions in kerosine and candles have been trifling ; both items are without attention. In the produce market there has been, without much life, a steady busiDess doing, at rather better rates. Oats are in demand at 2s 8d to 2s 9d ; tho supply, owing to the state of the roads, being light. Wheats have been received coastwise more freely, commanding, for good parcels, 4a 9d to ss. Good samples o! malting barley are worth Is 3d— a higher rate ia reported aa having been paid for one or more prime lots. Potatoes dull, at 62s 6d to 65a. At the mills, the last furnisbsd quotations are still jthoso current, namely, line flour, £12 10s to £13 j bran, £4 ; oatmeal, £15 10s ; pearl barley, £26.
