CANTERBURY.
The Zyttclton Times of Jnly 10th reports :—• The month has opened up wibh more activity than is usual at this season, and small sales of simple goods are being made at fairly maintained rates. The grain market is somewhat dull, as the rough weather has prevented supplies from coming forward. We note that orders from Auokland are discontinued to a great extent, as large foreign arrival of wheat have recently bten received, which to some extent h»s tended to weaken prices. Wheat is quoted at 3s lOd to 4s 2d, according to sample. Barley is quitted readily at 4s 41 to 4s 8:1, but operations are far from extensive. Oats continue in excellent jequest, as recent advices from Melbourne note a hardening market ; quotations remain at 2s 8d to 2a lOd for moderate Bamples, Provisions are offering freely.
