The Customs receipts to-day amounted to £240 1 7s, as follows : —Duties £232 3s 3d ; light dues, 12s 5 i ; arms fees, 18s j M.S. fees 4s; pilotage, £6 19s 4 i. JNotwithstanduig Ihe very unfavourable character of the weather the sale was largely atttended by local capitalists, and the bidding was unusually brisk. The extensive premises lately in the occupation of Messrs. Graham, Kirkwood, and Co. were first offered. The b dding commenced at £4,000, and rapidly iwe to £6,000, at which fi^uie the premises were knocked down to Messrs. Keesmg, Doitsb, and Keesing, drapers, Queen-slrtet. It ia said that the same property f -rmerly cost £14,000. The next offered was the leasehold property at the corner of Pnnce-t-streeb aud Waterloo Qua iraut, belonging to D. Graham ami 00., aud Jormerly occupied as Gorernnient offices. The buildings were purchased by Mr. W. iVlornn for £55, there being an annual ground rent of £152. Me-i^rs. Samuel Cuchrane aud Son sold thi« day, at ihe r mart, Port-street, the following properties : — 3UO acre farm on the Waikato sold fur £150 ; 233 acres in Kaipara, 2s 6d per acre ; 70 feet ooruer of Uobson and Cook-streets, £6 per foot ; 212 1 acres at the Whau. 24s 6 1 per acre ; au allotment in Mount St. Johu, 50 feet, 6s 6d; an allotment in Ponso>by Road, 5s per foot ; one ia Foleys township. 1324 feet, and one ditto, 180 feet, *t Is 61 per foot; Richmond Roa<i, 2s 9d per foot Kapan^a lots sold' ior 7d per f'tot ; one lot in the village of Drury, 66 feet, at Is 5d per foot ; the island or Motuihi was bought in by the mortuagre for £3,288. 'Ihe attendance was large, and luddiug rather oriaker than last sale, the terms being nearly in all lots cash on the completion of the deeds.
