NEWTON REPRESENTATION. To the Editor of the Weekly News.

Slß,— As there appears to exist an uncertainty respecting the resignation of Mr. W. Rowe as the representative for Newton in the Provincial Council, I beg to inform you that on Saturday week last that gentleman met me inQaeeo-atreet, and said, " 1 have this morning told Mr. Probert that I intend sending in my resignation in the course of the ensuing week, . and I now repeat the same to you, in order that the eleotori of Newton may lose no time in seeking for my successor." This declaration of Mr. Rowe, of coarse, soon became known in the district, aad the electors have been looking daily for his resignation. Should, however, any circumstance have occurred since Mr. Rowe's return to the Thames to induce him to alter his previous determination, I think it was his duty to have communicated that fact to his constituents. — I am, Inc., June 12, 1868.
