Tfflt Wellington IndependaOtd June 6 ha« the following :— "By the schooner * Mary Ann Christina' we have news that the notorious master of the ' Kona,' Captain Hayrs,' has again turned up at tome Pacific bland, the reported assault made upon him by his mate baring not prored fatal," This statement it, will be seen scarcely agrees with that published in the Lyttdtoti Titri&ot the 25th May, and which we gave on the 2nd instant, to the effect that " Captain Simmonds, of the schooner 'Mary Ann' Christina,' which arrived from the Fiji Islands yesterday, informs us that ho does not think there ia any truth in the report of the murder of Captain Hayes." Has Gaptain> Simmonds told two stories, or is our contemporary gifted with extraordinary prescience ?
