PRINCE OF WALES THEATRE.
Thb programme gone through at this favourite place of amusement last night wts a very attractive one, but unfortunately the elements conspired against what would otherwise have doubtless been an overflowing attendance. A new and very attractive ?iece was announced for performance, and Madame 'ournear was to have taken her benefit, but through the state of the weather there was but a very thin house. The first piece played last night was entitled " The Queen's Page, or the Idiot Witness," and was represented with considerable ability by most of the company, though no doubt the thin audience contributed in some degree to damp the ardour of the actors. The leading parti were played by Mr. OBrien (the idiot witness), Mr. J. H. Clifford (Paul Tugocull), Mrs. C. OBrien (Dame Tugocull), and Madame Tournear (the Queen's page). The other members of the company were tolerably well up in their parts. A musical melange followed by Masker and Miss Foley, after which Madame Tournear gave a specimen of some very clever tight-rope dancing, which we hope to see repeated. The whole concluded with the farce of " The Happy Man."
