The Times of the 29th May says :— A steudy demand for general trade is maintained, and business has nob been destitute of life. Market values are generally maintained. Transactions in building materials have occurred, and the parcels of Baltic timber, lately in first hands, are reported as quitted at prices exhibiting an improvement on late values. Gomsacks have changed hands at 15s 3d to 15s 6d. In the produce markets no change has taken place. Town-made flour remains at £19 10s ; Chilean, £21 to £22; wheats, 7* 9d to 8s } o»ts, 2s 6d to 2s 8d ; barley, 4s to 4s 6d ; potatoes, imported, £6 ; provincial, £7. By auction, the business done has been slight, and without anything of interest occurring.
