Daily Southern Cross Office, Wednesday Evening.

The Customs receipts to-day were :— Duties, £320 18s lOd ; light dues, 12s 8d ; arms fees, 2a ; pilotage, £9 10a lOd ; port charges, 5s Bd. TotaL £331 10s. Messrs. 0. Arthur and Son sold to-day lots 5 and 8, part of Mr. J. Williamsons subdivision in Upper Queen-street, haying a frontage to Upper Queenstreet and Liverpool-street of 30 feet by a depth of 160 feet, with the four-roomed dwelling-house erected thereon, for £155. Messrs. E. and H". Isaacs held a sale of groceries, &c, to-day, ;*t their stores, Queen-street. The attendance was large, and bidding spirited, the goods all being of first quality. The following are the quotations :—ln: — In bond : MarteH's brandy (old), quarter-casks, 9s to 9s Id ; fine Congou teas, English shipment, 2s to 2s Id ; fine cavendish tobacco, best, Is to Is 3d. Duty-paid : Round plaid vestas, Bell and Black's, 8s lOd to 9s ; ditto, 2505, 28s 6d • castor oilr 7s 9d to 8s ; salad oil, 8a to 8s 3d ; Lea and Perrin's sauce, 13s 3d j salmon, lib. tins, 15s ; other goods at fair trade prices. The sale realised in all about £1,000. Messrs. Hunter and Co. held their first quarterly sale at the Flagstaff, North Shore, to-day, when 100 head of cattle were penned, and about 70 disposed of. The prices realised ranged higher than those obtained at the Newmarket sale. a number of horsei, pigs, fowls, Ac, were also disposed of at satisfactory price*.
