CHURCH OF ENGLAND SUNDAY-SCHOOL.
A soiree «v»8 held on Tuesday evening last in the schoolroom of the Church of England, in aid of the funds of the Bunday-schobl. There' was % large ' attendance, and, although the weather was unfavourable, a number of persons attended from Auckland, Onehunga, and other places. The arrangements of . the committee were of a satisfactory character, and the ladies were mfrstTaWd'uous in their attention to their guestsA The Eev. James Macky, Presbyterian minister, presided; and delivered' a suitable 'iritro- ' ducfcory address. Addresses were also delivered by the Rev. F. Gould (pastor loci), the Rev. <£. Buttle,* ! Wesleyan minister, and others interested in the welfare of the school. An efficient choir rendered with creditable proficiency a choice selection of -sacred music. The interludes were agreeably filled bj recitations given by several gentlemen.
