Tm winding up of the Mount Eden Cricket Club for thTieason was celebrated on Easter Monday by a Swatch match at cricket in the Domain, among«t £c members of the clab and some other femd* Side, were pitched by Mr. Nicholas and Mr. Mears. Mr NlcholM's side went in first to the bowhng of Mears and Woodward, and were not out before they had made the fine score of 53 runs, of which Iflrf Alpe made 24, and Mr. Potman, who went in l*rt, wiT not out for 15. Mr. Mears's side then took the bat to the bowling of Jackson and Howard, and were all odt for 48 runs, the highest score be«g made by Mr. Finlay, who scored 11 runs. It being too late to go in for the second innings, the matcn was decided in favour of Mr. Nicholas's side, me Mount Eaen Cricket Club h*s played five matches this season, of which it has won three, lost one, and one was withdrawn— which certainly speaks very well for the Club.
