State for the week ending April 11, 1868 :— On remand, 5 males ; awaiting trial before Supreme Court, 11 males, 1 female; sentenced to penal •ervitude, 32 males ; sentenced to hard labour, 106 males, 7 females ; in default of bail, 3 males, 2 females ; debtors, 6 males. Discharged during the week, 9 males, S females; received daring the week, 10 males, 4 females ; total in gaol,] 163 males, 10 females.— Thomas Young, Acting Gaoler.
Tt is often a pretty good matrimonial firm that consists of three quarters wife, and one quarter husband. Youth i« the golden period of life, and every wellspent moment will be like good seed planted in an auspicious season. It is astonishing with what facility our feelings aooommodate themselves.to our situations, and catch their tone from surrounding object!.
