PHRENOLOGY.

To the Editor of the Daily Southern Caoss. Dear Sib, — As it was the opinion of all my friends that I had got some extraordinary bumps lately, and even my sweetheart having frequently insinuated as much, I determined to be present at Mr. Staekpool E. O'Dell's lecture on phrenology on Monday night last, to ascertain for myself, if possible, how it was that " such a genius I did grow," that my own mother, now in the old country, would scarcely know her son. I was kt the Parnell Hall, all in good time, with the reverend chairman, but unfortunately for me the lecture did not come off, owing to so few persons being present ; and my desires are still unsatisfied. Imagine my-asto-nishment, therefore, to read in y our contemporary this morning that " Mr. S. E. ODell delivered a lecture on phrenology in the Parnell Hall last evening, to a good audience. Several well-executed diagrams were exhibited, and the lecture was further illustrated by examinations of the heads of several gentlemen from the audience." How am I to account for this ? Perhaps Mr. ODell will kindly interpose, and tell us who is right.— l am yours, Lavate*, Jun.
