THE JESSIS KELLY. We are glad to find that this schooner, recently launched from Mr. Ni cool's building-yards at the North Shore, hai made a clipper passage from the Mauritius of 33 days, with, a cargo of new Reason sugars for the Sydney market. The Sydney Empire of the 20th inst., to hand per Challenger, say* : — "The fine schooner Jessie Kelly arrived early yesterday morning, having accomplished a most successful voyage to and from Mauritius. Although ■he has hud to contend with a succession of heavy sales, the voyage hence was made in 46 days, vi& Torres Straits, and the return voyage in 33 days, This is an extraordinary run for so small a vessel. Captain Smyth left Mauritius at 8 a. m. on the 1 6th Auguatr with fine S.E. tradett, which were carried to 28' S., the wind then veering to the N.W., with heavy weather and rain. Had fine steady winds and weather until pasting the meridian of St. Paul's, in latitude 35*30 S., the wind then veering more to the westward, with heavy rain and squally weather. On the, 21st of August experienced ft yery heavy head sea, with strong winds ; took in all light sails to ease the vessel, as she was making water forward. On the 25th, encountered a heavy gale from the westward, with heavy sea, the vessel makiug water, and continually filhng the decks. On the 31st the gale increased, and tnesea running very heavy; at 9 p.m., the ■lap was running under double-reefed mainsail, and olose-reefed topsail and tquaresaii ; shipped a very time, she took another sea over the stern. This washed .an unfortunate uaman, named Alexander Modre, overboaid, and completely disabled the ateerlog gear, causing the veisel to broach to, and lie for two hours on her beam ends ; at last the squaresail blew to pieces, the mainsail was lowered down the yardi braced forward, and the jib set; the ship

very slowly paid off, owing to the quantity of water ondeok ; the spindle of the wheel was secured, and all hands were kept at the pumps all night-. On Sunday, 'tlTB~2n<l Beptemi>er, the vessel still running with ft heavy gale and high tea, the pumps constantly attended to, but the vessel would not rise to the heavy seas, and they made a olean breach over her. Captain Smyth consulted with his chief officer and crew as to the propriety of lightening the vessel; accordingly, a portion of the cargo was thrown overboard. Heavy gales continued, but found the vowel to be much livelier and to make less water; passed Cape Otway on the 13bh September, 27 'lays out ; experienced » heavy gale from the N.W., until sighting Wilson's Promontory about 7 p.m. same day ; lay becalmed until the 15th, at 4 p.m., whea a heavy breeze from the N.W. came on, with fierce squalls, as fur as Botunda ; a heavy nea and bad weather was experienced until sighting Cape Howe, at 6 a.m. on the 16th, when the wind veered to N,E. No vessels have been spoken."
