THE AUCKLAND MILITIA.
We take the following from the ' New Zealand Gazette' of Friday last :— Order in Council Regulating the Rates of Pay to he received by the Auckland Militia vJich on service. At the Government House at Auckland, on the Ist day of March, 1860. Present : — His Excellency the Governor in Council. His Excellency the Goveinor, by and with the advice i»nd consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand, doth heieby fix the following rates of pay to be received from and after the first day of Maich, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one, by the non-commissioned officers and men of the Militia and Volunteers within the Auckland Militia District, when on actual service, namely — When on service in the field Sergeants .. 3s 6d. per diem ) Corporals . 3s. Od. " lations. Privates . . 2s. 6d. " ) When on service in Gairison or Quarters Sergeants 3s. 6d. per diem ) Coiporals 3s Od. " > without rations. Privates ... 2s. Cd. " ) When on special service, as night or day patiols, &.&, &c, special rates accoi ding to circumstauces. F. G. Steward, Clerk of Council.
