The whaleship Napoleon, of New Bedford, Captain G. N. Macy, biought up off the North Head early on Wednesday morning. * She is last from the Bay of Islands, where she failed to procure the hands Bhe required. The Napoleon is a fine wholesome specimen of the New Bedford whaling fleet — is about 22 months out, and has now on board about 630 banela sperm oil — a fair average catch. On the vessel being signalled, it was seen to be an old hand coming in ; but though old in one sense, yet Captain Macy is but a young man, peihaps one of the youngest commanders in the U.S. whaling fleet. He has, however, been here frequently before, as an officer of our old friend the Lion. Capt. Macy is an old hand amongst us, and as such has been welcomed by all who had met him pieviously. He is shipping his hands quickly, and -will sail again to-morrow. We are glad to hear that Capt. Kreeft, owner and captain of the unfortunate little Emu, has soon found an engagement which may assist him in lepauing the very heavy loss which he sustained by the wreck of the steamer. He has accepted the command of the Ro•etta, merchantman, lyiug at Bay of Islands, which is vacant by the death of her late captain, a notice of which will be found in our obituary of to-day. The Rosetta proceeds to Monte Video, and thence to Liverpool; and has, we are informed, a very valuable China cargo on board.
